 This temple is mainly for old age people for celebration of their  60,70,80  birthday. They do worship and homas  for good health and longevity. Mruthya means death, jeya means winning.

Chidambaram Nataraja Temple is a Hindu temple situated in the heart of Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Chidambaram Temple is one of the ancient temples of Tamil Nadu.   Thiruvalanchuzhi is just a kilometer away from Swamimalai. This temple is famous for the Vellai Pillayar.  This Vinayakar is also known as Norai Pillayar as He is made out of froth from the Ocean. The main deitiy here is Sadaimudinathar (or Kabardeeswarar) and his Consort is Periyanayaki. Here we can see the pillaiyar in white color. .

Ekambaranathar temple

  According to another legend, it is believed that Parvati worshipped Shiva in the form of a Prithivi Lingam (or a Lingam improvised out of sand), under a mango tree. Legend has it that the neighboring Vegavati river overflowed and threatened to engulf the Shiva Lingam and that Parvati or Kamakshi embraced the Lingam.
