World famous Athivaradhar temple- kanchipuram


 VARADHARAJAR PERUMAL TEMPLE is also known as Athivaradhar temple. In this temple moolavar athivaradhar is kept under the water. They will take out the statue of the god once in 40 years and do all the pooja and again they keep the Athivaradhar perumal statue under the water for 40 years

  Thiruvalanchuzhi is just a kilometer away from Swamimalai. This temple is famous for the Vellai Pillayar.  This Vinayakar is also known as Norai Pillayar as He is made out of froth from the Ocean. The main deitiy here is Sadaimudinathar (or Kabardeeswarar) and his Consort is Periyanayaki. Here we can see the pillaiyar in white color. .

Ekambaranathar temple

  According to another legend, it is believed that Parvati worshipped Shiva in the form of a Prithivi Lingam (or a Lingam improvised out of sand), under a mango tree. Legend has it that the neighboring Vegavati river overflowed and threatened to engulf the Shiva Lingam and that Parvati or Kamakshi embraced the Lingam.
